Tulsi Udyan, located in the Nayaghat area of Ayodhya, is one of the city’s most beautiful and peaceful tourist attractions. Developed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the garden was established to preserve and promote the religious and cultural heritage of Ayodhya.
After India gained independence in 1949, Ayodhya also witnessed a spiritual and cultural revival. Inspired by devotion, a social worker from Ayodhya installed the statue of Goswami Tulsidas, the great saint-poet and author of the Ramcharitmanas. On 28 December 1963, social worker Reena Sharma established the statue at the site of Victoria Park in the Nayaghat area, which was later renamed Tulsi Udyan.
The statue was inaugurated by the then Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Vishwanath Das. Since then, Tulsi Udyan has become an important cultural and spiritual landmark of Ayodhya, giving a new identity and direction to the holy city.
Today, the garden is admired for its peaceful surroundings, beautiful architecture, fountains, and devotional atmosphere, making it a perfect place for tourists, devotees, and photography lovers visiting Ayodhya.
