Nageshwar Nath Temple

Nageshwarnath Temple is one of the most sacred and ancient temples in Ayodhya, dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to Hindu mythology, the temple was built by Kush, the son of Lord Shri Ram. It is believed that while bathing in the Saryu River, Kush lost his armlet, which was later returned by a Nāga princess who was devoted to Lord Shiva. Impressed by her devotion, Kush constructed this temple in her honor.

The temple remained an important spiritual center during the reign of King Vikramaditya and was later renovated in 1750 AD by Naval Rai. The temple holds great religious importance, especially during Mahashivratri, when thousands of devotees gather here to participate in the grand celebrations and Shiva Baraat procession.
